How to Ensure a Positive Dumpster Rental Experience

Make your dumpster rental experience as pleasant as possible by getting your dumpster when you need it, avoiding surprise charges and have an appropriate amount of time to complete your project.
1)Schedule Ahead & Clear Your Schedule to Accomplish Your Project:
While we will deliver same day if we are able, it is best to give us at least one week ahead of time to ensure the size dumpster trailer you require is available.
Just as you would a doctor’s appointment, be sure you clear your schedule to complete the project and when you are best able to focus on it.
2) Know What is Allowed:
The number one question we get is “What am I allowed to throw in the dumpster?” The following breakdown will hopefully simplify and bring clarity on the subject.
*No hazardous waste. Paint cans, fluorescent bulbs, computers, motor oil, household cleaning products etc.
*Yard waste can not be mixed with municipal waste. You may rent a dumpster for yard waste OR construction debris/ household waste. There is a separate area just for yard waste/ organics at the dump, therefore mixed loads can not be accepted.
*No concrete. This includes any other dense material such as boulders, bricks etc. A solid slab of concrete can weigh up to 4,000 lbs per square yard. Such dense material can quickly add up in weight and surpass the tonnage limit of our dumpster trailers. If you need to dispose of a load of concrete we suggest renting from a company with a fleet of roll off dumpsters that have a higher tonnage capacity.
3)Know the Weight Limit of Your Dumpster:
While it is impossible to know how much the items you are disposing of will weigh, getting a rough idea is important. Every dumpster rental company has a weight limit per dumpster size, so be sure to ask.
*This is primarily because we get charged by weight at the dump.
While the vast majority of home cleaning projects do not reach our weight limits, it’s wise to be aware of the items being thrown in. If the majority of the items are heavy wooden furniture or saturated with water due to a flooding cleanup you may exceed the limit. Knowing the additional weight charge (should you go over) will help you stay within your project’s budget.
If you have any questions regarding whether an item is acceptable, please feel free to give us call! We deliver dumpsters to the Twin Cities area and are based in Plymouth MN.
