Dumpster Rentals: Money Saving Tips
Our 8 yard dumpster at work on a home remodel
Large projects such as spring cleaning, moving or home renovations can generate a lot of waste. Here are a few tips to help cut down on how much junk you need to throw and more cost effective methods of disposal.
Rather than pay to have some of your items disposed of, you could donate it (if the items fit certain criteria) or bring to your county’s recycling center.
Many cities offer disposal of items once a year for free or at minimal cost for residents.
Appliances: If still in working condition, you can either drop off or arrange to have it picked up by a local charity.
Electronics: Companies who sell electronics often accept old electronic for free or for a small fee at certain store locations.
Mattresses & TVs: County recycling centers often charge the lowest prices for these items.
Furniture: If still in good condition, consider donating to local charities. Oftentimes these companies will schedule a day to pick it up. Not only will it have a positive impact on the environment, it will free up more space for additional items in the dumpster trailer you rented.
Yard Waste: Many cities have sites that accept leaves, tree waste, brush & logs for free from residents. Be sure to call ahead to confirm acceptable item & hours.
